What is Classical Pilates ?

Classical Pilates is a mind-body exercise that improves the way you look, feel, and perform. It builds strength without bulk and engages postural muscles often neglected by sports and other workouts.  We use springs and body weight to develop a strong core and strengthen the whole body.  There are over 500 exercises to challenge yourself with and enjoy for a lifetime.  Classical Pilates improves fitness, posture, coordination, balance and overall well being.  Classical Pilates can be adapted to any fitness level although we do require clients with injuries, health issues and chronic pain to consult their physician before starting a new fitness program.


What are the benefits of Pilates ?

The benefits of Pilates are plentiful and most people soon experience the following:

* Improved circulation and better breathing 

* Injury prevention and rehabilitation


How often should I train ?

To experience the optimal benefits of Pilates, it's important to practice regularly.  We recommend a minimum of 2-3 times per week.  Whether in class or at home, practicing Pilates on a consistent basis will accelerate your learning and greatly enhance your overall health.


What should I wear ?

Comfortable athletic wear free of buttons, snaps and zippers.  Avoid the use of body lotions and jewelry.  Avoid oversized clothing that makes it difficult for your trainer to observe your body.  In the State of Nevada it is optional to wear socks during Pilates training.


What if I have health conditions ?

Please consult your physician before starting any new exercise regimen, especially if you have health issues.  Inform the instructor if you have any serious health conditions, such as neck, back or joint injuries; heart disease; high blood pressure; recent surgery; or pregnancy.  Private sessions are not meant for clients with acute pain or injuries. 


What is the cancellation policy ?

In case of a cancellation we kindly ask you to notify us at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session, so we can make that hour available to other clients.  If you have not cancelled at least 24 hours prior however, it is our policy to charge for the session.  Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
